From one extreme to another. The previous weekend La Fuga had ridden a 200km audax with our friends at Rapha.
A week later, La Fuga took to the boards. We’re not talking Manchester or Newport here. The Red Bull Minidrome made its Northern Hemisphere debut in Bethnal Green, London and we were there to show our skills!
Track-meister Ian Holt, described by fellow competitors as “pretty serious” donned the exclusive La Fuga skinsuit, having had new tubulars glued mid-week by Dan at Sigma Sport.
Battling toe-overlap, Ian managed to qualify in the top 32 competitors and was through to the quarter finals, in a individual pursuit style format. Remember, the track is 25 metres long.
Despite the gaggle of press firing flash bulbs as Ian waited for the race to start, and a change of gear ratio, it wasn’t to be as Ian lost out by mere hundreths of a second across the 10 laps.
We were treated to an evening of great entertainment, as riders competed, getting faster and faster, elevated by the ever more vocal crowds.

Look out for La Fuga at more events this year. We’ve even a few of our own in the pipeline!
