You'll then descent into Beaufort, famous for it's cheese of the same name before heading back up in the double header of the Col du Pré and the Cormet de Roselend. The views are just stunning as you climb higher and higher. The only thing left on the parcours is the climb to La Plagne which at over 20km long is going to be tough.
La Plagne is famed as the place where Stephen Roche staged a miraculous comeback to almost catch his rival Pedro Delgado as he appeared from the mist to collapse as he crossed the line and ultimately clinch the yellow jersey in the 1987 Tour de France.
