You’re looking forward to a great 2011 season, you’ve been to see many pro road races, and yet you’re keen to get the miles in with a view to seeing some new cycling roads and plenty of pro racing.
For 2011, La Fuga is heading to the Ardennes Classics. We’ve organised a superb week of cycling based around the second half of the Spring Classics.
Amstel Gold, Fleche Wallonne and Liege-Bastogne-Liege are so steeped in cycling history that we could spend the entire week giving you a history lesson, however, we’re going to ride our bikes.
You’ll arrive in the Ardennes on Saturday 16 April. On Sunday 17, its Amstel Gold – you’re first opportunity to see the pro’s in action. Its the time of the season where the sparrow-like climbers come to the fore, taking charge of the peloton from the cobbled-classics riders.
From then we’ll be riding some of the best roads the region has to offer – particularly around La Roche-en-Ardennes.
Our hotel is chosen for their love of cycling and cyclists, we’ll eat heartily and recount days events and talk up our chances for the rest of the season.
As the week progresses, you’ll see Fleche-Wallonne (remeber Cadel Evans do the World Champions jersey proud in 2010?) and as a highlighted finish on the final weekend, its time for the Philippe Gilbert sportive and Liege-Bastogne-Liege on Easter Sunday.
If you’re riding the Etape, the Cent Cols, or just looking for a great time on the bike, with like-minded souls, then this is the trip for you.
